President Patrick Ryan announces winner of election for President-Elect (Designate), NW ACDA

It is my honor and pleasure to announce the election of Dr. Brian Galante as our Northwest Division President-Elect (Designate). You probably know Dr. Galante from his superb work at Pacific Lutheran University. In addition to being an exceptional conductor, Brian is a tremendous leader who freely volunteers his time in service to singers and fellow conductors alike. With Nicole Lamartine and Brian Galante heading the division for the next four years, we are truly fortunate to be in the Northwest!

NW ACDA was assuredly in a "win-win" situation with both of our candidates. We are grateful for Michael Murphy's candidacy and his continuing leadership in all things ACDA.

Regarding his election, Brian says: "I am humbled by the trust that the division membership has placed in me, and honored to serve as president. This is an exciting time for ACDA: the recent changes in the bylaws reflect a new responsive, relevant ACDA, and I look forward to working with the states of the NW division and the National Board to further the growth of our organization. I also look forward to our division conference in Seattle next month, and the chance to continue the conversations that allow us all to be inspired by our shared choral art."

President-Elect Nicole Lamartine welcomed Brian to the board with the following statement: "I am delighted to welcome Brian Galante to the NW Leadership Team as Pres-Elect Designate. Brian's term will begin on July 1, and I look forward to many years with him in an exciting partnership. As we enter a time of change and restructure in the R&R area of ACDA, I know Brian will bring his years of experience to help guide the division in our next step. His passion for the art and dedication to ACDA are qualities that will guide him in his leadership of NW ACDA. Welcome, Brian!"

Thank you to Past President, Gary Weidenaar for overseeing this election, and thank you to our membership, who recorded an excellent voter turnout!

Patrick Ryan, President, NW ACDA
